This classic gluten and dairy free scrumptious chocolate icing is perfect for brownies, chocolate cake, and to drizzle over any sweet. Twirl into a cheesecake or on top of your favorite cookies. When our family gets together, these brownie remind us of grandmothers brownies she made sure to always bake for the grandchildren. Sweet and chocolatey with a little crunch on the top. If you like even more of a crunch, mix in a few walnuts into the brownie mixture.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons of softened vegan butter
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons of evaporated goat milk
- Optional, 1/3 cup of chopped walnuts
Why Use Goat Milk?
This recipe is inspired by my grandmother-in-law. She always had the best brownie icing, but when my family had to go dairy-free we simply stopped icing our brownies. That is until I discovered evaporated goat milk. Evaporated goat milk is very creamy which makes it the perfect substitute for heavy cream in recipes! (Goat milk is homogenized meaning that the cream does not easily separate from the milk like that of a cow. Therefore goat milk is naturally creamy.)
