Flavorful gluten and dairy free tasty meatloaf is full of nutritious oats and a vegetable that makes all the difference. After I discovered the surprising ingredient, my flavorful and tasty meatloaf became a dish enjoyed by family members and friends. With that surprising ingredient, I successfully tweaked my meatloaf recipe with different sauces, herbs, glazed toppings, and/or grated cheese in the middle creating a filling, flavorful meatloaf. Now that we eat gluten free, nutritious rolled oats full of fiber along with a special meatloaf pan that drains fat away from the meatloaf creates an even healthier recipe.

Secret Flavorful Ingredient

If you forget to include this specific ingredient, the zing of sweetness disappears from this filling, flavorful meatloaf. In fact, the taste is so drastically different that I have only forgotten the surprising ingredient once.

As I learned to cook gluten free, I began to depend on spices. Just a few years ago, only a few condiments were certified gluten free. Thus, I avoided ketchup and learned to spice up my recipes with herbs, dry rubs, and sometimes this surprising ingredient. If you have a picky eater, making this flavorful gluten free meatloaf is a great way to sneak a vegetable into their diet.

Do you know what vegetable is sweeter than ketchup and much healthier? If your answer is carrots, you are correct. When grated and cooked, they disappear into the meatloaf creating a flavorful, tasty meatloaf.

Did you know that hearing loss has a domino effect decreasing stimulation to your taste buds and your ability to smell. Smelling plays a large role in how food tastes. Yup! That is why older people often prefer foods with a rich flavor. If their digestion does not prevent them, you may even see red pepper or spicy seasoning sprinkled on their eggs, grits, and most other dishes.

Surprising Effects of Sound Sensitivity on Taste and Touch

Likewise, people with too much sensitivity in their hearing system, sound intolerance, typically experience too much stimulation from their taste buds. Thus, they prefer more bland foods and often specific textures. Unfortunately, it only takes a few negative experiences with food to create a picky eater.
